Virbac New Zealand Ltd

Virbac New Zealand Ltd is a subsidiary of Virbac Australia Pty Ltd, and has been operating in New Zealand since 1984. Techvet Laboratories Ltd was appointed as distributor in early 1983 and the first innovative product, Preventef, was launched in March the following year. Subsequently Virbac acquired the majority of shares of Techvet in 1993 and has consolidated that position in the ensuing years.

The company in New Zealand is unique within the Virbac worldwide structure in that at least 30% of its turnover is derived from non traditional Virbac business. The turnover in 2002 was in excess of NZ$19 million and is currently growing at the rate of 15% per annum. Staff levels have also grown with 30 full time staff and a large part time merchandising presence in the pet sector.

Our major international suppliers apart from Virbac include Codan, Genesis, Heska, ICPBio, Sergeants, and 3M. These companies are leaders in their respective fields and rely on our expertise to represent the products that bear the individual company names, a success here.

Our Fields of Competence

Virbac's own research and development is the main source of new product innovation with 23cents in every sales dollar invested into research and other costs associated with bringing new products to market in Australia and New Zealand.

Quality

Quality is of paramount importance to all sectors in the company for a single purpose: customer satisfaction.

Virbac's Facility has been certified to ISO 9001-2000. This certification defines very specific standards that demand professionalism for all staff. Virbac is proud of this certification and continues to achieve the highest possible results. The quality approach is everywhere at Virbac, affecting products from the very inception of the development of the dossier, structuring product manufacture and the delivery of the final article. Maintaining and improving quality requires qualified staff and continuing in-house training. Quality extends beyond the enterprise, imposing supplier's respect of the stringent procedures and the practice of regular auditing. The introduction of MOVEX as our integrated business management system will see the advent of product scanning at the picking area which will ensure the correct product will be supplied and tracked right through the process. This state of the art system is being installed throughout the Virbac world and will help standardize the product identification, invoicing, tracking and reporting.
